Pazin - small town with a long tradition.

Located in heart of Istrian peninsula where life takes place with equal intensity at summer and in the winter days. Exceptionally, every first Tuesday of the month tis happening traditional Pazin Fair which is attracting a lots of people from the surrounding areas.

Pazin Castle

It is located on a cliff above the abyss of the river Pazinčica, over which you can fly on the Zip line to the castle. The first written trace dates from 983 and for many centuries was the strongest Habsburg fortress. Jules Verne described Pazin Castle in his novel by Matija Sandorf. Today, the Ethnographic Museum of Istria and the Museum of the City of Pazin are located in this best-preserved medieval building in this area.

Pazin cave

Part of the Abyss can be visited by a short walk (500m) along the footpath that runs on the southern side. If you are an adrenaline addict, you can enter the abyss accompanied by experienced speleologists and explore the underground world in an exciting Speleo Adventure or fly over it on a Zip Line.

Pazinčica - Pazin stream

Pazin roof and Zarečki roof are among the most interesting structures. The valley of Pazin Stream, together with the Pazin Cave where the stream sinks into subterranean passages, is an attractive natural area for a number of nature lovers as cyclists, climbers, walkers and anglers. During the summer, if there is enough rain, you can swim.

The church of st. Nikola

Feel the church of St. Nicholas where you can see well-preserved frescoes, a beautiful baroque altar and a church organ dating from 1780. In 1705, a 45 m high bell tower was built next to the church.

Franciscan monastery

It was built in the 15th century in late Gothic style on model of the church of St. Nicholas. During the past centuries, the Franciscans of Pazin kept a pharmacy and a hospital in the monastery. From 1781 to 1834 there was a public school in the monastery, and from 1836 to 1873 there was also a grammar school with German language classes. The library of the Franciscan monastery is the oldest preserved library in the Istrian county.
